one of the best trips to Austin ever!!
So, for all you sheltered folks who gave me crap for going to Austin with a guy I barely know, all i have to say is neener, neener because I had a blast. Just teasing.
the drive down was great. Michael and I talked the entire time. It was really nice to be able to discuss such valuable topics. We talked about values and beliefs and current issues. It was great conversation.
We drove straight to Trudy's as is the tradition. We met Kim, May-Ling, Ted and many of Kim's friends. Drank a few Mexican Martinis and had much more great conversation. We headed back to May-ling's and i crashed out for a few hours and Michael and May-Ling just talked the night away. It was a really nice night.
saturday, we all slept in. It was so nice, i dont get to sleep in very often anymore. We finally woke up, had some lunch at Hyde Park Grill. I fought it out with a garden burger that I just could not finish. But, i won the fight, i beat the burger. Yeah for me!! Well, we jetted off to the mall to join may-ling at her mystery shopping. I bought a John Bongiovi CD. This was before Bon Jovi the band, this was during Jon's solo time. Good CD. then, off to see Lily (May-Ling's sis) for a bit. Then, met up with Kim, had some dinner with Kim, laura, anuj, and Michael. went to see Brett Baldwin perform on the front lawn of a jewelry store. Great music and great atmosphere. It was so nice. The weather was nice, the company was nice, the music was nice and the shiner was nice. :) Then, met up with may-ling and ted again and spent the rest of the evening at Spider House. I love austin coffee shops. After a good time there and much talk of Rent, we headed back to may-ling's place for some hardcore Guesstures and Taboo competition. After that, the worst part of the weekend happened, I had to say goodbye to Kim who is leaving to teach English in France for at least a year. It was oh so sad. Now, we all know that I am super bad at goodbyes and this one was no different. Many tears were shed and many nice words were spoken. I am really going to miss her. Good luck, Kim.
Once again, we all slept in this morning and then had some lunch and Michael and I headed back to the big D. The drive home was also very nice. Much more conversation, a bit more personal this time. Let's just say that many drunk embarassing stories were shared. you know you're getting personal when you tell people all the crazy shit you do when you're drunk. :) Anyway, i got home a bit ago, caught up with my roommate a bit and am about to sit down to watch the Live of David Gale. i have been wanting to see this movie for some time, so I am pretty excited. i'm out.
